Yawnly is a baby nap predictor. This policy explains what the app does with information, in plain language.

The short version

What stays on your device

Baby profile (name, birth date, optional due date, avatar choices, bedtime), sleep/wake/feed/diaper logs, your app settings, and the computed nap predictions. This data is stored in the app’s private storage on your iPhone and, if you use the widget or Live Activity, a small summary (baby name and the next nap window) is stored in an App Group container that only Yawnly and its widget can read. It is included in your device backups (iCloud or computer) according to your iOS backup settings; Yawnly itself never uploads it.

Subscriptions (RevenueCat and Apple)

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. To check whether your subscription is active, Yawnly uses RevenueCat, a subscription service provider. RevenueCat receives: an anonymous, randomly generated app user ID, your device’s app-specific identifier (identifierForVendor, which Apple resets when you delete all of a developer’s apps), your App Store purchase/receipt information (product, dates, status), your device type, iOS version, app version and locale. RevenueCat does not receive your baby’s data or your name or email. RevenueCat’s privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

Anonymous analytics (TelemetryDeck)

To understand which features are used, Yawnly sends anonymous event names (for example onboarding_completed, paywall_shown, log_sleep) to TelemetryDeck, an analytics service based in the EU. Each event is sent with a pseudonymous identifier derived by one-way hashing (salted) from your device’s app-specific identifier, plus basic device information (device model, iOS version, app version, locale, time zone, accessibility and display settings) and app usage statistics such as session counts. No event ever contains your baby’s name, ages, times, logs or any free text. TelemetryDeck’s privacy policy: https://telemetrydeck.com/privacy

Notifications

Yawnly can show local reminders (“nap window opens in 15 min”, “your trial ends in 2 days”). These are scheduled on your device by the app; no push server is involved.

Data retention and deletion

Your logs stay on your device until you delete them (individually in Today, or all at once in Settings → Delete all data) or uninstall the app. Deleting all data also clears the widget summary, pending reminders and any Live Activity. Anonymous analytics events already sent to TelemetryDeck cannot be linked back to you and are retained under TelemetryDeck’s policy. Subscription records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat as required to manage your subscription and to comply with tax and accounting law.

Children

Yawnly is made for parents and caregivers and is not directed at children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The baby’s name and birth date you enter stay on your device.

Not medical advice

Yawnly’s predictions and “Why is baby crying?” suggestions are computed from your own logs and general age-based sleep patterns. They are not medical advice and never diagnose. If you are worried about your baby, trust your instincts and contact your pediatrician or local emergency services.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK GDPR, the California CPRA, the Australian Privacy Act or Canadian PIPEDA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of personal data. Because your baby’s data never leaves your device, you exercise these rights directly in the app. For subscription data, contact Apple or forgedbyai@gmail.com. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes

We will post any changes to this page and update the effective date. Material changes will be highlighted inside the app.
